It’s been a few months since Janette Mäkipää joined us as our R&D and Laboratory Manager, and we’re excited to introduce her properly. In this short time, Janette has already made a positive impact, bringing her expertise in and fresh ideas to the team. In this interview, we get to know Janette a bit better— what brought her to Aeromon, and her experiences with us.
You recently joined Aeromon as a R&D and Laboratory Manager. What does a R&D and Lab manager do?
Good question! I get to manage the R&D and lab operations, coordinating the team to meet business needs. Additionally, my role includes e.g. overseeing testing, quality management needs and ensuring manufacturing aligns with the sales pipeline.
What do you enjoy about your role, what do you appreciate the most about Aeromon so far?
I enjoy the versatility of the job as well as my colleagues. I really appreciate the people, they have made me feel super welcome since day one here. Everyone is extremely talented at what they do and always eager to help each other, there’s quite a unique team spirit here which I’m very grateful for.
What are your passions, and did they lead you to Aeromon?
I have always been passionate about air quality, it’s been the focus area of the majority of my career and MSc studies. I feel like that background coupled with my passion for sustainability creates quite a nice match with Aeromon. So yes, my passions definitely led me here.
What have you learned whilst at Aeromon?
Can I write a novel here? For instance, I have had the chance to hop in the world of software development, which is quite new to me. And although I am somewhat familiar with air pollution and its monitoring technologies, I have learnt that there are so many opportunities to deepen my knowledge and learn more in practice.
