Lotta is an environmental specialist and has been at Aeromon for a year. She works onsite, travelling to all four corners of the globe to report for our customers, as well as in the head office in Helsinki.

Maya: Your role sounds very flexible; what do you do day-to-day?

Lotta: Yes it is, personally I love the flexibility. If I’m travelling, I conduct measurement campaigns, help with field operations and set up the drones. Then after a day of data collection, we visualise the data on our software and report our findings. I also communicate directly with the customers and provide remote support for them when they need it. I’ll admit that it was daunting at first, but my coworkers are warm and supportive, and our customers are very approachable, so that erased any worries I had. My work in the field is collaborative and riveting. I’m always communicating with the team and customers and giving the software team feedback on the linkage between our hardware and ACS.

In the office, my work isn’t so fast-paced. I analyse and cross reference the data, most of my time is spent finalising and reporting data to our customers. I get to work with R&D to test prototypes sometimes, which is also exciting.

Maya: Do you have any favourite moments from your time here?

Lotta: Choosing one moment would be impossible, but I enjoyed our winter and Midsummer festivities for example. It’s always lovely to bond with colleagues and socialise outside of work. We also play board games on Friday afternoons sometimes, and go out after work. I think it’s special that we can bond as a team and form friendships with each other.

I’d also say that travelling is a favourite moment, more specifically recently I went to Austria with the field team. The scenery was absolutely beautiful and the weather was also very pleasant. We met with new customers and it was overall a great experience.

Maya: What do you appreciate the most about Aeromon?

Lotta: The opportunities. I have had the opportunity to travel to beautiful and thrilling locations; as I said I was in Austria, but also Belgium and the French countryside. Soon, I’m going to Thailand, then to North Africa in September. It’s rare to have such a variety of opportunities to travel and to meet customers, all of whom are very respectful and cooperative. I also appreciate the balance I have in my role – I’m not always on-the-go and I can easily take some time off – everyone here respects each other’s holidays.

Most of all though, I really value our working environment. The workspace is open, we can have fun, but also be productive. Everyone accepts constructive criticism and forgives mistakes, and I find that helps us grow together and build trust. Aeromon is also great in the way that it’s not hierarchical, everyone listens to one another completely and I can voice my opinion freely. Overall, I’m very lucky to work here and I feel that my presence and hard work is relevant and valued in the world and within Aeromon.
